Russell Dale Strickler, 84, passed away Sunday January 15, 2023, at his home in Wellington, MO., surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Wellington United Methodist Church, Wellington, MO. Visitation: 12:00 to 1:00P.M. at the Church 1 hour prior to service. Burial in Machpelah Cemetery, Lexington, MO. Dale was born December 28, 1938, in Camden, MO. to Russell and Margaret (Nichols) Strickler. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1956. Dale was drafted into the United States Army and served from June 1962 to June 1964. On August 27, 1962, he married Sharon Crutsinger. They resided in Wellington, MO and shared 60 years together. He was the owner of Dale's Grocery and Gas for 23 years. At the age of 55, he retired and spent his free time involving himself in part-time jobs, being a member of Shirkey's Golf Club, Odessa Saddle Club, and fishing with his sons and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Sharon of the home, two sons: Anthony (Stephanie) Strickler, Wellington, MO., Darren (Josie) Strickler, Olathe, KS., eight grandchildren Erika (Ryan) McCarthy, Stillwell, KS., Sarah (Ben) Scharfe, Grain Valley, MO., Nicholas Strickler, Grain Valley, MO., Michael (Devin) Strickler, Wellington, MO., Halie Strickler, Olathe, KS., Andrea Strickler,Manhattan, New York, Alexandra Strickler, Wellington, MO, Matthew Strickler, Wellington, MO., and eightgreat grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his grandson Eric Strickler and granddaughter Elissa Quijas. Memorial to: Wellington United Methodist Church in Wellington.
